Answers
How does the Libertarian Party of Illinois support its operations?
Our income comes from individual donations, fundraising activities, and our annual Illinois Convention. We receive no money from federal, state, or local governments.
Are the Officers of the Libertarian Party of Illinois paid?
No. Every LP Illinois Officer is a volunteer who donates their time to advance liberty in Illinois. We do, however, hire contractors from time to time to perform specific tasks for the Party.
How are donations to LP Illinois spent?
We pay for necessities like our phone, mailbox, website, and office supplies. We also have recurring expenses for insurance and contractors. Our big-ticket items, though, are getting our candidates on the ballot, and frequently, the legal help required to keep them there. Every dollar you give helps us become a more viable political force in Illinois. Donate today and help us get Libertarian candidates on your ballot in 2008!
Are donations to LP Illinois or my local Libertarian Chapter tax-deductible?
No. Per current tax law, political contributions are not deductible.
How can I donate to the LPI?
You can contribute online with most major credit cards through our secure online payment processor. We also welcome your checks. Send them to the LP Illinois mailing address.
