Fellow Lovers of Liberty,
The time is RIPE in Illinois and across the nation to stand up and be counted to protect our 2nd Amendment rights! Even though the Supreme Court ruled that the right to keep and bear arms IS an individual right, anti-gun forces right up to President Obama are working overtime to undermine those rights by proposing legislation that would make ammunition impossible to get and even require that firearm owners obtain unavailable liability insurance.
We are fortunate that the Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA) has friends in the legislature and a loud, clear voice to preserve and even extend our right to keep and bear arms under Illinois' constitution. Here is OUR chance to add our voice to theirs.
Last year, nearly 3,000 Illinois gun owners assembled in Springfield for a peaceful, organzied demonstration and lobbied their elected officials to protect our gun rights. This year their goal is to double that number - 6,000 - and Illinois Libertarians should help swell the ranks of those standing up to be counted.
The ISRA has a web site explaining all of the details of "IGOLD" including times, places, and even has busses arranged to carry folks who don't have cars or don't want to make the drive alone.

This is a peaceful, organized event organized by the Illinois State Rifle Association. There will be opportunities for you to meet with your elected officials and let them know that the Second Amendment is important to you. Only by showing up in large numbers can we assure that our gun rights are important to THEM.
